Alec Ross

Alec Ross is an American computer scientist and politician. He served as the Chief Technology Officer of the White House from 2014 to 2017, during the presidency of Barack Obama. Ross was born in 1970 in Baltimore, Maryland, and grew up in a family of modest means. He graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park, and began his career in technology in the 1990s. Ross worked for various companies, including Microsoft and the National Institutes of Health, before joining the White House as CTO. He was a key advisor to the Obama administration on technology policy and was responsible for implementing various initiatives to promote digital inclusion and innovation. Ross is currently running for governor of Maryland on the Democratic ticket.
