Zac Foster's Clemson Comeback: Explosive Guard Returns

0:00On March 23rd, Clemson freshman guard Zach Foster faced a tough first season after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament on December 16th. The dynamic player made an early impact off the bench with solid scoring, rebounding, and assists in his first 12 games, bringing speed and, playmaking the Tigers needed. But the injury forced him to miss the final 23 games, including all Atlantic Coast Conference play and the postseason. His recovery has gone ahead of schedule since surgery and mid-December. Under the team's athletic trainer, Foster started rehab on January 1st and could return to practice this summer, according to Coach Brad Brownow. The coach noted Foster bounced back mentally after some early struggles during the long season. Foster embraced his new role as a supportive teammate, gaining insights into behind-the-scenes prep for big wins. He watched Clemson reach the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament semi-finals and earn a number 8 seed in the NCAA tournament. The Tigers fell to number 9 Iowa in the first round in Tampa on March 20th.

1:04Now focused on the future, Foster plans to ramp up running and jumping soon. He joins Redshire freshman Ace Buckner as Clemson's key returning guards next year, part of a young core with forwards Chase Thompson and Dallas. Thomas plus Topper crew Harris Reynolds.
