0:00It's April 15th. Welcome in. This is Tampa Bay News today, where local news meets AI. I'm Corey with the story. Early Wednesday morning in Tampa, Florida, a 37-year-old local man behind the wheel of a GMC Yukon slammed into a construction truck on. State Road 574. The crash happened west of Bismarth Palm Drive in an active work zone with a Yukon driver overtaking the Ford F-550 truck that carried two workers. That truck had its caution lights flashing, but the Yukon still made contact, flipping the script on highway safety real quick. Both construction workers ended up with serious injuries and got rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, highlighting how these zones put lives on, the line every day. The Yukon driver walked away with just minor injuries, before the highway patrol hit him with a citation for careless driving. Drive smart folks work zones, demand extra eyes, and this one's a stark reminder as troopers wrap up their probe.
