Ye Loses Labor Lawsuit, Ordered to Pay $140K

A Los Angeles jury cited mostly against YA way in a lawsuit from Tony Sachson, who managed construction and security at the rapper's Malibu waterfront home. Back in 2021, on March 11th, they found YA viable for injuries, Sachson suffered on the job, ordering him to pay $140,000 plus the workers legal fees. Sachson had accused YA of labor code violations, unpaid wages, and ignoring his severe back injury after he asked for time off. The jury rejected claims of wrongful termination and did not award extra punitive damages since they saw no proof of malice. This came well short of the $1.7 million Sachson side had sought. Sachson's lawyers called it a solid win for their client, who stood up to intense scrutiny in court, including a tax on his records and character. They expect the total judgments of top $1 million dollars once fees are added under California labor laws. YA-wise team views it differently,

1:05saying the jury dismissed nearly all of Sachson's demands, like lost wages and overtime. They argued Sachson acted partly as an unlicensed contractor, which could block the award entirely. Now, YA way side plans post-trial moves to challenge the payment and push forward with their own bigger lawsuit against Sachson and his attorneys over an an in-proper lean that hurt the property sale.
