They cleared him of capital murder so he won't face the death penalty. The trial wrapped up after four days. Yazeed's sentencing is set for May 7th. Anaya's father, Elijah Blanchard, spoke out after the verdict. He hoped for a capital conviction since he believes the killing was intentional, but he's trusting the process now. The family feels some closure after six tough years, though nothing brings Anaya back. Elijah called the outcome bittersweet, especially hearing graphic trial details and seeing Yazeed show no emotion. Anaya's mother posted online that they're glad about the guilty verdict.
