化緣回寺的莽頭陀(楊五郎)，於夜深人靜之時，至偏殿佛堂，為楊家將眾魂靈唸經超渡，悲聲讓正在巡查的六郎聽聞尋至楊家神主牌，兄弟因而相認。六郎將父骨骸下落告知了五郎，但五郎已出家，不便再管世塵之事，經二人商討後，讓六郎先行探路。六郎與八妹入境北國，蕭太后得知消息，怕楊家將後代來取楊令公之骨骸，與鐵鏡公主商議，母女將計就計，以骨骸當作誘餌，引進楊將家入洪羊洞，好一網打盡斬草除根，以慰先王在天之靈，也吩咐公主將骨骸移至別處，帶兵埋伏，等魚上釣。
