月高黑風之夜，六郎與八妹便裝打扮，欲騎馬離開至洪羊洞迎回父親骨骸，太君為保子女周全，命家將張彪隨行，一路保護二人。在五台山清涼寺出家的楊五郎，化名莽頭陀，出家後的他，仍然偷偷貢奉父親靈位，唸經為父超渡。一日，方丈得知莽頭陀(楊五郎)將有大劫難到臨，命他下山化緣，有意阻止他與楊六郎見面。莽頭陀領命下山後，六郎與八妹借宿清涼寺。
