楊六郎告御狀，打倒奸臣潘仁美(潘洪)，萬歲欽封元帥，鎮守邊關。一日，有人送信告知父親骨骸在洪羊洞。六郎回府向母(佘太君)拜壽後，趁機向母親稟告骨骸一事，有意前往將父親之骨骸迎回，但太君心有所顧忌，阻止六郎，不肯放行，擔心楊家唯一的單丁六郎，去至北國恐有三長兩短。但六郎與八妹商議後，仍然想盡孝心，暗地取回父親骨骸。
