趙大戶奸險好色，六十大壽的宴會上，與賀客小人醜態畢露；也讓牛郎織女看到人間不堪的另一面。趙大戶逼迫牛郎要耕地千畝、織女要織縑十匹，織素五丈，夫妻倆才得會面。某日，趙大戶對織女意圖不軌，幸其外甥（由天狼幻變之貴公子）前來解危。貴公子贈金釵要替趙大戶贖罪。織女仍然拒絕其好意，適逢牛郎返家，公子故意將金釵放於桌上，匆匆離去，牛郎見金釵，誤以為織女移情別戀，於是既傷心又憤怒，準備拂袖離去，織女婉轉解釋，誤會冰解。織女並告知已懷有身孕，夫妻倆更為欣喜，但是，也覺得此處不得久留，即刻遷居為妙。
