樊廚告訴龐涓孫臏發瘋此事，龐涓看見孫臏發瘋的樣子，只好放棄得到天書的念頭，瞬間想到自己馬上要過生日，還有兒子滿四個月，當然要趁這次機會好好跟眾卿凹一番聘禮，而孫臏也暗中計畫要在龐涓生日那天好好裝瘋大鬧一場，把眾夫人、小姐與文武百官嚇得半死，讓龐涓的面子沒地方擺，氣急敗壞之下，於是命人把孫臏關去乞丐樓受苦。
