魏興、魏順企圖說服漁郎王俊接受相府親事，正直的王俊認為此事不妥，遲遲未能答應。老漁夫江大叔路過，了解情由之後，也勸說王俊不妨接受這天降的親事。魏興、魏順連忙回府覆命。魏東侯本以為找到寒士窮漢，如此一來必能逼得女兒反悔認錯，沒想到魏玉珍竟然答應出嫁，並與母親話別，連魏夫人出面勸解也阻攔不了，只能眼睜睜任由任性的父女倆各行其事。魏夫人一想到女兒未來不知將會如何，心中不免憂心起來。
