遼邦蕭天慶與潘洪串通，欲騙誘宋帝到幽州，當筵殺死宋主也。楊大郎延平假扮宋帝代主赴宴，其餘二郎至八郎均保護同往，所謂“八虎闖幽州”。大郎見勢不佳拼一死，先發制人以弩射死遼主蕭天慶，遂鬧成一場惡戰...次年，楊七郎(楊延嗣)作戰受困，巧被杜金娥救下…
本劇以楊家將故事為背景，用忠魂義膽的內化精神，重新詮釋戲曲楊家將的忠勇故事。題材選自「楊家勇士七郎」以及「六郎取骨骸」等情節，除提倡忠、孝之內在思維外，本故事將其改編，豐富了七郎與金娥的愛情故事，以及加入救母一情節，在六郎取骨骸時，更豐富了與四郎、五郎、八妹兄妹之間的感情，以昇華楊家忠義之孝行。
