黑狗妖修練千年，終於可以幻化人形，於是快樂下山享受人間事物。
范丁王爺，常年帶兵在外，鞏固大明江山，萬曆皇寵愛有加，特封異姓兄弟，封為親王，范丁征番有功，萬曆皇特免范丁陪朝，允許范丁回鄉半年，回鄉後經常覺得枯燥乏味又是獨自一人，身邊無王妃陪伴，范丁聽從師爺建議外出散心，說不定可以遇上有緣人。
范丁與師爺走至大樹下乘涼，此時黑狗妖遇見五百年一次的雷公厄，黑狗妖為保生命躲至范丁身後，雷公作罷離開。黑狗妖為感謝范丁救命之恩，敬奉范丁為主人，日後若是范丁遇到困難，一定出手相救。
個性一文一武的陸家姊妹，芙蓉與秋霜，因顧店無聊，在秋霜的提議下也外出逛街散心。
