Thankfully the crew The crews all survived the report goes on to state that the blue on blue incident occurred as multiple Iranian drones We're penetrating quady's airspace one of these impacted a base it resulted in the death of six Americans

I just I was I was wondering the same thing But you know if if they're up in the sky and they've got friendlies around and they're not expecting to get a missile or anything from a friendly, so yeah, I guess that's how it happened Yeah, I mean they weren't paying obviously they weren't painted by radar when this happened because they would have known You know in this article here Tyler Roguey even explains also if the super hornet employed passive heat-seeking missiles Like the aim-9 sidewinder The f-15 e pilots would not have known they were being engaged until the weapon detonated There are caveats to this including if the hornet had used its radar to assist in the sidewinder lock Which probably obviously didn't But quady hornets were clearly in the airspace at the time defending against drones So even being painted by their radar may not have indicated how serious the situation wow was about to become
