Wish Bus Honors Barbara White's Legacy

0:00On April 29th, Nottingham City Transport just unveiled a special bus called The Wish Bus to honor Barbara White, the founder of When You Wish Upon A, Star. She started the charity back in 1990 and Nottingham to grant wishes for kids facing life-threatening illnesses. They've made over 19,000 dreams come true so far. Earlier this week, they drove the bus right to her home as a big surprise. It's her 70th birthday year, and after she broke her back last year, this gesture hits even harder. The charities raise millions thanks to her drive. White told folks she felt humbled and never expected anything like it. The chief exec, Joe Williamson, called her amazing to work with and said it's an honor to lead what she built. Families get so much joy from her efforts during tough times. NCT's marketing head praised her 30 plus years of life-changing work for families in need. She got an officer of the British Empire Award in 2006 and an honorary degree from Nottingham
