Will Ferrell's Pay Cut for Christina Applegate in Anchorman

She revealed that Will Ferrell took a pay cut to help get her on board as co-star Veronica Corningstone opposite his Ron Burgundy. Applegate was chatting on the view, while promoting her new memoir, You With the Sad Eyes. She explained that her first offer for the film felt way too low and even a bit insulting. At first, she planned to turn it down because she knew her value and wouldn't settle. Wolpy Goldberg on the show called it a light offer and Applegate agreed across the line. Luckily, Ferrell and director Adam McKay stepped up. They were so eager to work with her that they dipped into their own paychecks to boost hers, making the deal work. Applegate called it one of the best experiences of her career. The movie satirizes the news world with a stacked cast including Paul Rudd, Steve Correll and others.
