Peter Crone rates his daily suffering less than 1 out of 10. He grew up an orphan in a small English village, buried in loss, fear, and not enough.
Asked what heaven on earth would actually feel like, he laughed and said “kinda boring.” No struggle, no conflict, no juice.
Willpower is ego wearing a gym membership. It’s force, and force always creates lactic acid, physically and emotionally. That’s why everyone quits by February.
Force feels like pushing. Power feels like peace. He asks his athletes to say “I’m forceful” then “I’m powerful” out loud and watch their whole body change.
His line that’ll stick with you: you can override a habit with force, but you can never violate identity.
Heaven is a place on earth, he says, you just have to go through hell to get there. He’s been to both, recently, on purpose.
The real work isn’t meaning-making, it’s breaking free from the straitjacket you were handed at birth, then handing that freedom to someone else.
