Part of human communication is talking, talking is how we interact with our fellow peers. Through talking, through talking, we communicate, and though talking is how we communicate, listening is just as indispensable to communication as talking. We have to listen to what our parents are telling us. You have to listen to what the teacher is saying. We have to listen to your friend to hear their point of view. And so what I'm saying is, we have to listen just as much as we're willing to talk. And I'm sure we have all been there. We're trying to listen to what the teacher is saying. The teacher is saying something very important to the class, and it's a very important lesson. It's a very important lesson. And then there's that one classmate who whispers to us while the teacher is talking. Whispers completely shift our focus from what the teacher is saying to something that is completely off topic.
The devil said, y'all is the same way. While we are trying to listen to what God is saying, and what God says, and believe what God has spoken in our lives through the material, the devil is all up in our ears telling us things that are otherwise opposite of what God says. We as young believers need to differentiate the voice of God from the voice of the devil. When we know who is speaking to us, then we know what to entake into our spirits. We need to know whose voice is in our ears. It's common in Christian culture to know that the Lord speaks to his people. When many do not know that there is a belief that God in any shape or form does not reveal himself to creation. That will be us. I'm going to say that again. There is a belief that God does not reveal himself to his creation. You know, if I say up, can you explain a little bit or elaborate for us?
Yes, I will. And deism is this belief. Deism is the belief that God does not intervene nor interact with the creation of his hands. They believe that there is indeed a God. They are not denying the existence of God. They believe that God is real, but it's different. Here's what they believe. They believe God created the universe, the planet, the animals, the plants, the waters, everything. And then afterwards, he left and just sits back while creation plays out. He lays everything just play out. And this ultimately falls short because God doesn't just let things play out. Everything that happens is a part of his design and plan. Ephesians 111. In him, we were also chosen having a predestined, according to the plan of him, who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will. And if these people really believe there's a God, then they clearly are missing out on who God is because he had you and me in mind before the foundation of the earth had begun.
Before he decided to say, let there be light, he already made up in his mind that there was going to be light. Before he breathed the breath of light into the into man, he already knew, he already had the plan to give man life. Deism is also false in the way it states that God does not intervene or interact with his creation. If you know the Bible states, you know that we are counted as his creation. In fact, God created us and he calls us his greatest creation. If God does not intervene with creation, then how does someone like me, who has faced challenges in his emotions, mind and spirit, just start sharing about the gospel and sharing about Jesus? How does it happen? How does it happen that someone who was once dead in their sins, someone who was messed up, someone who had anger issues, someone who assumed someone who was dishonest at some point, and someone who was in a cycle that they couldn't break out of.
How does someone casually just switch to what I'm doing now? If God does not reveal himself to creation, then all these testimonies that we hear about how God saved us is all false and it's just fiction. So God speaks. We know He does and deism is false. However, there is a voice that also speaks. The devil's voice, y'all, is real. God speaks to us, but there is a real devil who is trying to get into our heads. How does he get into our heads through our ears? And I don't mean crawl through our ears, but I mean speaking through our ears. How does he get through our ears through words? As Christians, we cannot afford to not know the difference between the voice of God and the voice of the devil. We need to know both voices and know whose report we ought to believe.
You've got to get this. I said that the devil has a real voice. All these people that like to underestimate the devil and they want to say all this stuff about the devil don't underestimate the devil now. He's sneaky. Yes, he is defeated and yes, God is exalted, but the devil is still crafty and he's still seeking to, he's still seeking to attack as many people as he can because he divides the Bible says he knows he has but a short time. So don't underestimate him. His voice is real and his voice can, his voice can have rule over you if you let him. And here's the thing about the devil's voice and if you get this, then you'll know for sure how to differentiate the voice of the devil. The greatest tactic of the enemy is lies. If there's one thing that the devil has used, even from the days of when he tempted Adam and Eve and even up to now, the devil has never stopped using lies.
It is his biggest weapon. He's never stopped. He has never stopped lying. The devil's always been lying. On 844, Jesus was talking about people who are of Abraham's seed and he talked about how, oh, Abraham is our father, no, Abraham was the father of many nations and God chose to multiply the generations of man through Abraham. But he says, no, y'all are blood, though y'all are in a blood line with Abraham, y'all are of y'all father, the devil. It doesn't matter if Abraham is related to you through blood. When you look at spiritually, he talks about being Abraham's seed, how you can only truly be Abraham's seed if you believe and that by believing in Christ, then are you Abraham's seed. You don't just become Abraham's seed, you don't inherit promises because of blood.
But he talks about how the Pharisees weren't children of Abraham, but they were their father. Jesus, he said their father was John 844, you are of your father, the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning and just not standing the truth because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources for he is a liar and watch this, the father of it. Any lie in this word that you can imagine, the devil created it. The devil is the stem of a lie. He lied to Adam and Eve and said, God, you won't surely die. If you do it, you'll be like God because God is holding you back. He made a scene as if God was holding Adam and Eve back from something that he didn't want them to have. The truth is, he was on the back, but he made a scene as if that was a bad thing. But little did they know that once they ate that fruit, that a whole generation, not
just a whole generation, but every generation of humankind will have to suffer the disease called sin. And so the devil's voice is real, y'all, but we need to be aware of it. But we can't become so comfortable with being aware of the devil's voice and forget that God's word is worth more than all the words of Satan. I know my pastor and my bishop, he says all the time, one word from God can cancel all the words, all the many, many words of the enemy that one word from God shuts down every lie and every word spoken by the devil. Many people are so aware of the devil's voice that they forget, they don't even know God's voice. Oh, the devil did that. The devil did that. The devil did that. The devil stopped my cause. The devil's in the refrigerator messing everything up. The devil, the devil, the devil. They think the devil's everywhere. There's a devil everywhere. And I had every bush in every corner.
But I will say this, the devil's voice, y'all, can be manifested through people. Because he's the real, it's just like God. God doesn't show up physically to us and speak to us. He doesn't show up as a person who's trying to speak into us. But sometimes you hear what God is saying through people, through, you can hear God in your pastor's speaking. Because that pastor has heard from God and God is speaking through him. You can hear God in an encouraging message from a friend or from your parents. In the same way, the devil's voice can be manifested through people. And you know, we talk about the devil's the father of lies. It can be your friend. It can be your associates that the devil uses to manifest those lies. You know what I mean, you ain't no athlete. You playing basketball. There's no way you playing basketball.
That's a waste of time. You might as well give up. I mean, come on. You try to enough. If you try it that many times, you might as well just give up. You don't need all that Jesus stuff. All that Bible is holding you back. The devil's, the devil, it's true. God's got his children, but the devil has his own kids too. And part of knowing the difference between God and Satan's voice is knowing God's word. You have to know God's word if you are to ever to appreciate between the two. Isaiah 55, 10 through 11. For us, the rain coming down in the snow from heaven and returneth not thither. Thither if you didn't know that's the old, that's the old language. But water the earth and make it the brain for the bud that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater. So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth.
It shall not return unto me, boy, but it shall accomplish that which I please and shall prosper in the thing where too I sent it. Let me read it in the new living translation. The rain and snow come down from the heavens and stand the ground to water the earth. They cause the grain to grow producing seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry. It is the same with my word. I send it out and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to and it will prosper everywhere I send it. Did you get that? Because that'll help you distinguish between the two voices. Because you can you know that the voice of God is the voice of God and it's the voice of the devil when God already says something and somebody else tries to challenge it as if it didn't 100% say that and it doesn't completely say thou shalt not lie because I mean if you do this and if you do that, that doesn't necessarily mean it's a sin or thou shalt not steal. It's not necessarily stealing if you do this and this any voice that will come to challenge
the word that God has already spoken and brought forth it is a lie and it is of the devil. So I want to make it clear though or wondering who's that voice in your ear and though we're trying to know the voice of the devil, I'm not encouraging you to go look for the voice of the devil and here's the thing you don't even have to look for the voice of the devil. He's coming to you. You don't have to go look for the devil. He's coming to you. He's going to speak to your ear yourself unexpectedly when you get emotional face, you throw a fit or something and when you just shut down, those are those it's those opportunities that the devil uses to try to speak to you, speak lies to you but you also have to know guys where like I said. So with all this, what's the difference between the voice of God and the voice of the devil? This will help you distinguish whose voice you should believe and whose voice is going
to benefit you. Number one, the devil's voice accuses while God's voice forgives. Revelation 12 10 through 11, that I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, now salvation and strength and the kingdom of our God and the power of his Christ have come for the accuser of our brethren with the devil who has accused them before our God. And I has been cast down and they overcame him by the blood of the lamb and the word of their testimony and they did not love their lives to the death. He says the accused are the brethren, the Bible calls Satan the devil, the accused are the brethren. We are the brethren. He's accusing us. He's accusing us of being, he accused us of being imperfect and too fought for God to use us. Why would God love you? Did you know you did this and you did that? You did this. You did that. You did this. But they overcame him by the blood of their lamb and the word of their testimony. Your testimony has power to the devil accusing you.
While the devil's in there accusing you of this, accusing you of that, you remind them of your testimony. He's only reminding you of your testimony that you're going to use to overcome him. He said you did this. You did that. You did this. You did that. He's only reminding you. And so what you do is you take the reminders and you say you're right. I did that. And give it to God. God, I'm sorry. I did this. God, I'm sorry. You did that. Yeah, it's part of my testimony. Yeah, I did that. But it's my testimony. And it only shows me the power of God working in my life. That God can save anybody and I know for sure that he saved me and he called me to do of his good work. Number. And here's another verse for you to remember. First John 1.9, we confess our sins. He is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Number two, the devil, excuse me, the devil's voice stresses while God's voice comforts. I said the devil's voice stresses while God's voice comforts Matthew 1128 says this.
Come unto me all ye that labor and our heavy laden and I will give you rest. God says come unto me if you're laboring, if you're heavy, if life is just on you right now. Just come to me and I'm going to give you rest. Now notice what he says here too. He didn't say come to me all the yet that labor and our heavy laden and I'll take this load off of you. He didn't say I'm going to take the labor and I'm going to take the load off of you. He just says I'll give you rest. That's a power because though you are carrying this load of life on your back right now, God will give you rest and the strength to keep carrying the load and he'll give you the peace to continue as you continue carrying it. He's not going to take the load off of you fully but he's going to give you the peace and the strength to endure it all together where the devil he'll tell you he'll stress
you out. He'll stress you out. Come on you could do better than that. What is that? You need to do better because this is awful. You're doing awful right now because while you're trying to do this, you're trying to do this and you're trying to do this and you're doing this, it's like why can't you do, I can't do better. Why can't you just do this? You're so messy. You're messy. You're unorganized. It's just going on. He's stressed you out, anxiety and God is just saying, I'll give you rest. I'll give you rest and I'll give you comfort as you're carrying this load called life. Number three, the devil's voice tells you to follow your heart. Do you? While God's voice tells you to put off the flesh and put on the spirit. Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think, then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
He says, don't copy the customs and behaviors of this world. He tells you to follow your heart. Do what you feel is best. You're adequate. You know, you got all the skill. Just relying your own abilities. You've got this. You passed the test. You made it. You won the championship. You advanced in the playoff game. So what's holding you back? You got this. Just do what you feel is best because ultimately you know what's best. That's the flesh. That's the old man coming in is you have to rely on God. You have to put on the spirit. As God is saying about this, yes, I know God has given me these abilities, but ultimately, like I said, he gave me the abilities. I didn't do this myself. It was God. So ultimately, I'm going to rely on him rather than thinking that the abilities was all done. That was all earned through me. Number four, the devil's voice tries to make you feel better.
I mean, start the devil's voice lies to you to make you feel better while God's voice tells you the truth even though it hurts. Now, I know you might have missed this, but the devil, he'll lie to you. He'll buddy you up and dead wrong. You'll be dead wrong about something. And the devil will lie to you saying you didn't do anything wrong. You didn't do anything wrong. It was just, she just don't understand. She doesn't understand what you're carrying right now. It's not, it's not that you did. It's just something wrong with them. However, the voice of God is going to tell you the truth and even though it hurts, even though it don't feel good, it's going to make you better. I told you the verse before, those are the Lord loves, he chastens. I told you chastens, it means the discipline and punish, and even when it hurts, a person and like I said, you hear the voice of God and the voice of devil through people. So you can hear him saying you can hear the devil's lie to make you feel better in
people. Your friend will tell you, you didn't do anything wrong. Well, man, it's just, man, why are you listening to your mama, your mama, your mama don't understand what you're going to, your mama don't understand who you are. It's like, you got this, ain't nothing you did wrong, you did everything right. And then where is God? He'll speak to you through your parents and even though it hurts, they're actually making you better because if they didn't love you, they wouldn't say nothing. And that's the thing. Someone who loves you will tell you the truth even when it hurts. And God loves you because he'll tell you the truth even though it hurts. Number five, the devil's voice seeks to take life, but God's voice tells you to take his abundant life. John 10, 10 says, the thief comes to steal, kill, and to destroy. But God has come that you may have life and have it more abundantly. You're seeing all throughout these, the past five years have been rough when it comes to suicide.
And I know people have, if suicide has always been a problem, but in these past five years, it's been rough. The numbers have been increasingly growing as it relates to this generation. The devil is speaking to some of these people who are going through, they're just going through right now and life has become unbearable for them. The devil tells them, man, it's too much. I can't do this anymore. You can't do this anymore. You might as well take your own life. It's too much for you to bear. Or maybe they've done something so bad, the devil tells them there's no way they'll forgive you. There's no way you'll get over this and they take their own lives, but God, but it's all part of his steal, kill, and destroy a plan. He's seeking to kill you, but God can that you might have life and have it more abundantly. And the truth is, and a lot of those situations, he's holding you back. From the real truth, he'll show you one side of it and reality, when in reality, you don't know the grace and mercy that may be shown to you.
Yeah, you messed up, but you see here trying to take your own life rather than facing it with responsibility, and little do you know that you may not even be in trouble. So I always remember that. So with everything in conclusion, I want to make it clear, hopefully now that you know who's in your ear, hopefully now you understand the voice of God and the voice of the devil. Now that I told you about the difference, don't start looking for the devil's voice, but this is the warning that when that voice comes, you can either take it as truth or you can take it as a lie. The devil is the father of lies and God's truth is that he loves you. And if he loves you, he'll, and if you know the Lord's love, then you'll know that
what the devil says, it's all a lie, that that was a lie. You need to become confident in saying those words, you need to be confident in those three words. The devil is a lie, or is that for whatever it did. If you want to include the the whatever, the devil is a lie, be confident in that. God loves me and the devil is a lie. So now when you hear someone saying something, telling you about a particular thing, whose voice is in your ear is what you need to ask. This has been Langston, I create a progress word. Thank you so much for listening. Peace out.
