Hey friends! Welcome to Daily Family Bible, where we talk with our families about the Bible. So, who do we have on the show today? Today we have Scarlet with us. Thank you for being here Scarlet. Do you have a joke for us? If why did the clock get shushed in the library? Why did the clock get shushed in the library? I don't know. It was talking too loud. Like to talk too loud? Alright, let's get to the Bible. What's our verse for today? Scarlet, can you read Matthew chapter 23 verse 26? Line Pharisee. First clean the inside of the cup and dish. Then outside. Then the outside will also be clean. Great, perfect. Thank you. And in this chapter, so verse, chapter 23 of Matthew, Jesus is talking to the crowds and to his disciples.
And he is warning them against doing things for the wrong reasons. And so, he wants them to focus on fairness and mercy and faithfulness. But not for the wrong reasons. Not just to look good, right? He wants them to truly feel it from their inside. And so, we read in verse 26, blind Pharisee. First clean the inside of the cup and dish. And then the outside will also be clean. So, he's talking about dishes, but he's talking about more than that, right? He's talking about us and the difference between our actions just looking good and what's going on inside of us. And so, I wonder what you think about that scarlet or the difference between making your inside clean versus just looking good. Yeah. So, in class, we talked about how, like, take off your old self and put on the new. And then, we, like, talked about, like, how to do that. And, like, we talked about, like, put off your old ways, like, sending in the wrong eyes.
But then, like, put on the new self of, like... Yeah, just focus on the new way that you might have and that new way being Jesus' way, right? Yes, yeah. And that he really does care about what's on the inside. Alright, now is the time in our show where you get to answer the question with your family. Okay, friends, what do you think? How can we make what's on our inside clean?
