Westway Reopens After Major Repairs

Transport for London wrapped up the major fixes on this key route, easing months of headaches for drivers. TFL's top capital officer, Stewart Harvey, gave props to drivers and locals for hanging in there during the work. The road's been rough since opening back in 1970, leading to a speed drop from 40 miles per hour to 30 back in July 2020. Over worn out expansion joints, Crew swapped out two major joints to let the flyover handle heat shifts and traffic flex without cracking. Without this, things could have gone south fast down the line. Now with the main stretch back online, traffic should flow better soon, but stay sharp on those weekend alerts to keep the commute smooth.
