From the Fairbanks Museum in St. John'sbury, this is the eye on the sky weather journal. The sun rose this morning at 6.33 and will set at 7.16 this evening, length of the day extending to 12 hours and 43 minutes. The final storm of a very snowy march left record depths of snow on the ground 25 years ago in the state in 2001. East Alston, New Hampshire recorded 12 inches of snow bringing their total to 72 inches for the month. Marlboro Vermont had 16.7 inches from the storm and a snow depth of 48 inches, plainfield Vermont 5 feet of snow on the level in the valleys, Lancaster, New Hampshire had 23 inches of snow on the ground, the greatest depth, so late in the season. This year has been much more encouraging for those anxious for spring, temperatures have been on the mild side and most of the snow has melted in the valley locations, it will be cooler in the north today in the forties still 60s in the south.
