And anyway, you want it these days, you can have it in a pill form, you can also have it in a tablet form. It's a Friday, but not any Friday. What Friday? It's a foot locker. A Friday. Ha! The morning shift, foot locker Friday, baby. I can't accept the loss of my heart, had it hard. There's a little bit of madness to mount method. Many fallen off that fine line that I'm trading
05Now risking anything to be greater. I'm not letting nobody rob me of my victory. Number one, that's what I'm meant to do. With my any means, only thing that makes sense to me. I can make nice or make history. I got that dog, give me it. Do it, do it. Big energy, got the crowd going. I got that dog, give me it. Bring me up my dog. I don't need anyone. I don't need the one. D-E-G-I-C-O-S-O-S-O-S-O-S-O-S-O-S-O-S-O-S-O-S-O-S-O-S-O-S-O-S-O-S-O-S-O-S-O-S-O-S-O-S. Like I think, dog. Last Friday of every month, for like a Friday, baby. I got that dog. Give me it. What's that? We got that on feet and on hand. Hey. The new neon, MX90. Damn, they're good-looking shoes. I love the MX90. They're the favorite of you these days. And you know what, the cool thing about it is that means we get to play a little game on the show today.
08And I'm calling it the 90s bringback, because it would be rude of us not to be able to... Not to be able to celebrate the MX90s the way we should. Oh, for sure. Are we all giving them away at the end of this? We are going to be giving away a pair of these in the box. I think we should all give away a pair. I think we should give away three pairs. That's a great idea, bro. Yeah, I think it's good, you know. That's a really cool idea. I'll give mine away to a shifter that's deserving for 100%. I love that. We're doing that with our FootWalker Friday MX. Bring it back, 90s bracket. Oh, yeah. Bring it back, bring it back. Bring it back. What else is on the show today, brook? A man, Marco Stanovich. Oh, brook, let's say if you don't know about this guyship nation, I'm glad that we were lucky enough to have him in the studio because tonight he represents this beautiful country that we call Alteador, AKA New Zealand. Eat in Park, baby, I'll be there with my phone. That's it. He plays for the all whites. Football World Cup year. They play two games. They play one tonight. They play another game against Chile on Monday, but he stopped by a studio. There's a big deal like he plays against the best players
09in the world over in the UK. And we're lucky enough to have him in the studio as well. I just want to say to our international audience, I know you guys think our sports teams sound very segregated or blacks or whites. Look, our country colors are like silver, black, white, right? So we didn't really get to creative outside the names, but it ain't like that. OK, we're a nation standing together most of the time. We don't see none of that, you know. And we're all, we're all, we're all into far. You know, it's been going on too long. We can't change it. There's actually a lot of diversity in the all whites team. I just want to say that. All of our teams. But I didn't like that. No, it sounds like what are these guys? I've got the all blacks. They've got the all whites, when they're all supporting each other. What's going on there? No, no, no, we, we good. Tato, Tato, we all love each other. My chicken today, all right. You guys know I'm passionate about a lot of the rings. OK, I just, it's my favorite man. You know what has been annoying me lately? I actually might bring this to the show. A segment called, you know, we have recency bias, but we need some bloody decency bias.
10Show some decency when you're comparing. There's a lot of creators were starting to, you know, put into the algorithm on to talk in that I'm seeing. With the June three installment, they're trying to say that if it's, if it's good, it's up there with return of the king and fellowship in tutor. I'm like, it goes toes with a lot of the rings. I'm like, where do you get off? Like seriously, where do you get off? Like that is redonculus. No, it's redonculus. It is. Like, and they're really passionate about it. They think that it has a chance to be on par with the only series, one, two, three. That's at the top. They all hit, forgive me if for June lovers. I don't know if the first one really, really moved the dial for me too much. And see, I'm opposite. I don't really feel moved by the second one. So I like the second one more.
12But see, but it's contention. We're having that conversation, right? Didn't have that one with Lord of the Rings. Exactly. So just quickly, some Lord of the Rings, guys, here's what you didn't know about Frodo and Sam's journey to Mount Doom. I think this is interesting for you, Frodo, all right? The full journey. How long do you think the, how long do you think the full journey took from the shire to drop in that little sucker into mortal, the ring? We don't often think about a timeline, do we? A-S-E, I gotcha. I gotcha, about three movies. I reckon about two years, six months. Is that it? Frodo leaves the shire September 23, and the ring is destroyed on March 25th. Oh, what's the date today? No, you're two days late. I'm two days late, Dan. I thought there was a crazy alarm in there. The mortal portion alone took two to three weeks under extreme conditions, guys. I want you to know, two to three weeks, they were extreme conditions.
13Especially inside mortal, they moved at night to avoid detection with minimal risk. They likely averaged between 50 to 20 miles a day early on, but much slower once in mortal. They survived mostly on lemna spread. And what? Lemna spread. Given by the alves of Lothlorian, I knew that because I read the books. A single bite could sustain a grown man for a day. Where's that food? Exactly. Where are we going to that? Exactly, it's called red. By mortal, they were severely rationing, consistently hungry and weak. They just want you to know that. Frodo feels that I have sort of watching him as they approach the gate, Frodo experiences intense dread and pressure. Later to be known in the world today as anxiety. It's implied he can mostly feel sore on searching. The ring reacts, pulling him toward being discovered. But yeah, anyway, six months was that journey? If you were wondering? And man, they did a bloody good job. That did a great job. I felt like we took six months to watch it. And that wasn't that enough. Hey, could have been more Peter Jackson
15and the team down there. Thank you very much. Did a great job. Anyway. He would have made a movie. And all honestly, I reckon Peter Jackson would have asked if he could actually make a six month long. Yeah, he wasn't pushing you. Last one was like three and a half, wasn't it? That's it. And enjoyed every minute, bro. It's actually said, when you think about it, those iconic kind of long form movies, I think they're done. I mean, we're getting joined. But I mean, June is a, it's backed by a huge book series that was widely popular. You know, but like future. And it could be coming to an end, man. It's very sad. Anyway, I know you guys have always wondered how long it took for that ring to go from the Shire to Mordor to be destroyed six months. Look what we can do. Six months from now, you can be change the world anyway. Ah, that is deadly breed, guys. No, let's get into that. That's right, guys. Deadly breed. Breaking bread with the news of today. And today it is March 27th. That is 86 days deep into the air. 279 left to get her dead.
16Get her dead. It is world theater day, gentlemen. Is it? Yes, huh? Couple theater kids in this studio. Indeed. When I think theater, I think William Shakespeare. Yeah, he's the done right. And when I think of William Shakespeare, I think Romeo and Juliet's a gentleman that would be remiss of us not to act out a scene. You will see under your desk I have given you a scene. I've got a right. Which we will now perform in great. I don't know what I was going to say. And in a great way. And in a entertaining manner. So gentlemen, we have been at a lot of roles. Brook, he will be playing Tobolt. Jordan, you'll be playing Romeo and I'll be playing Makushio. So if you would like to, please get out your scripts and let us get ready for one of the most powerful scenes. I need a backstory, man. I need to know my character. Right. I need to know who I'm talking to, bro. You tell me they're a rush, this brother. OK, allow me to introduce you guys. I'm actually going to put the screen differently
16just because it feels better like that. So Brook, you are playing the role of Tobolt who is the brother of Juliet. Who is the love interest of Young Brook? Young, Jordan, sorry, who is my sister, brother? That is, hey, back in those days. But ultimately, what is happening in this scene is you are annoyed. You want to scrap out Romeo. OK, Jordan. OK. Oh, it's you. I'm Romeo. But you know, Jordan knows straight away that love is everything, love conquers everything. And even despite their families both feuding for many, many years, he's willing to ditch that for love, because love is everything. Me, on the other hand, I'll be playing Marcuscio. Marcuscio is obviously the older cousin of Jordan who refuses to see him get trampled down by Tobolt and not scrap him. So I'll be up for a scrap. OK, ready? Ready. Scene. Here we go. Romeo. The hate I bear can afford no better term than this. Thou art of villain.
21The reason that I have to love the death much excused the appertaining rage to such a greeting, villain I am none. Therefore farewell. I see thou knowest, me not. Boy, this shall not excuse the injuries that thou hasn't done for me. Therefore turn and draw. I do protest. I never injured thee. But love thee better than thou canst devise. Till thou shall know the reason of my love. You gave me this because Brooklyn would have been able to read all these. I know. That's a lot of letters, isn't it? And so, good capulet. Which name I tender as dearly as my own? Be set aside. God. Oh, calm, dishonorable vile submission.
25Alas, Doctor. Carries it away. It's about you, rat catcher. Will you walk? Well, what's with us, Thou have with me? Good king of cats, nothing but one of your nine lives. That I may mean bold with her. And as you shall use me hereafter, drape eat the rest of the eight. Will you pluck your sword out of the picture by the ears? Make haste, little one. At least mine be about your eyes, and ears it be out. I am for you. Oh, come on, man. Sorry. Gentlemen. Gentlemen. For shame, for bare this outrage. Tabong. Magusio. The prince expressly hath forbidden been dying in Verona Street's haunt about good Marquisio. Ah, ah, ah.
29I have hurt. A prick! A bugger, how's this, your house is gone. I am speed. Is he gone and hath nothing? A scratch. A scratch. Mary, does it not? Where's my page? Go, then. Fetch a surgeon. What's your record, y'all? Well said a day. Wow. I'm sorry, man. I can tell you guys are theater kids, right? No, you're not. I don't want to play basketball with people who can't hoop before. No, don't do that. That's what I felt. I know. You know? You too many. You too some dancer kids. I don't know. Don't do that. I love that. That was good. You enjoyed that. Does that international cheese stay as well? I've got a block of cheese for us. Eat, come on. I've got a lot of cheese. So I know how to eat.
30Yeah, you tell him. No, you're embarrassing. I'll just, I'll just be straight up. Good. I'm embarrassing. That's all. When we get the opportunity to travel, I have been known to go to the Kuru Lounge, and I have been known to take a block of brye every time I'm there. Very interesting. I eat it. I don't eat cheese during the week. It's too expensive. Yeah, but no one knows that. Right. That's the problem. That's the issue that I have. The optics. No one knows that you, and also, he's got mad cheese in his house. All the cheeses in the world. I can't even bear it. He's got a cheese for the house, bro. The tasty. He even got the sliced cheese. First of all, I'll give you that much for free. Go in your fridge. Okay. How much do you want a bit? If we go in your fridge now, we won't find some cheese. You won't find brye. I know. Yeah. We don't need it. You've got a big block of cheese. You've got that block of cheese that I have to buy. What I find disrespectful is the lack of care, because you take that before about to have a 12-hour flight and I'm down while we're sitting next to you. And you know we can't smell it up in the air,
30but I know it's getting dropped everywhere. That's not gonna happen. And so you're a little bit care for us. It's the size of us. It's the size of a pizza-slice hill. Any way. It's the size of a pizza-slice hill. World-sleep day. Very important day. Yeah. Well, we're having to go at people about how they can just... We're having to go at you. We're having to go at you. I know we are at you for the way you just sleep all the time. We're on flights. Broke, have you got the video of the alignment that both Jordan and I were sitting in the plane last time and how he just fell asleep and slumped right over me? He then did cross the boundary though. Yeah. He filmed it too, Jordan. Did you see the pizza-sized breed, chunks that Mark brought back to the table? Didn't film it or anything. I can't prove it. Pull either fifths. You two, stop making me a part of this. I plead the fifth. Hey, happy international world theater day. You did it this fair, too. Happy international Tuesday and happy world sleep day this Friday for you. Guys, Sydney might be onto something. They have just recently in the CBD Greenlit.
32What do you call it? I just had a mind blank, guys. They've Greenlit. Real piece. See, now you're listening. They're right because you want to hear me mess up and it's like, why didn't he have this? I was here, but now I'm there. They have Greenlit. Greenlit, the license is for 24-hour trading. So, the headline said you might be able to get a coffee, you might be able to get a haircut early hours in the morning because Sydney, they want to be a 24-hour trading city. It makes sense. Yeah. And I'm not mad at it, bro. Like, would you, bro, would you go after your long day, the kids are down, you've actually got everything. Would you go to like a live in P? I'd be saying this. I'd be going to late night barbers if they were open. I'll pay a little bit extra. One of my favorite cities in the world is Seoul. It's a 24-hour place, but when you land in Seoul, you're jet lagging so you stay up and they have, to that, they have... Things to do. Functioning malls. Yeah, two things. Really? Yeah, like, people are out. I would love that, bro. It's the time they're so used to it. The normal, right? It's just becoming the new normal. So, I was over there like, hey, it's still open.
34That makes me excited. I love Sydney when I visit. I think they've got such great things, great food. If they go to 24-hour trading, I ain't even mad at it. Yeah, I think it's a good idea too. Because if you think about what's happened in generations, you've got two working parents who work during the normal work hours so they don't have the chance to go shopping, don't have the chance to do everything they got to do. That'll be a cool thing, but it has to be by choice though, right? Like, so if your company wanted to work through the 24 hours, then that would be the case. But, yeah, I'd bring it on. Yeah. Anything to make more cash, he says. 100%. Also, bring it on. Is what he always used to say. And still does. But Israel, Adi, Sydney. This Sunday. It turns to the ring after about a year away. I said this on play on the greatest sports show that New Zealand has offered the other day, but I will be enjoying these last fights. You know, like, is he to me or is to me my favorite New Zealand athlete of all time? And I don't say that lightly. There's so many up there, but I've just followed the journey.
36Love what he's done. Love how he's held himself. He was in the ring. Man, man's was in the ring. Like, you want to talk about being in the arena? He was in the ring. Close the cage. It's just me and you in here. And the world is watching. And he was the best in the world. It's the thing I hate about social media the most is that, you know, it's easy for comment sections or kind of energy on social media to discredit sometimes and make us forget. Like, I was at Marvel of Injustadium, but it's the same. I was forced back from the cage. I had unreal seats. I watched that guy walk into that stadium. In a fight that no one thought he was going to do it in the fashion that he had. How we came on had the dance when he came through. That's. Yes. I was loving it. I'm glad you finished it. But yes, I think, man, what a career. He looks, man. I've been asking a few questions to a couple guys in camp. I think it has a very looking answer. And they've had this kind of quiet reserve.
37No one wants to say it like, you know, it's not about him being back, but you just know when a fighter is having a good camp. He's in the space. That's their energy. Oh, wow. Cartway as well. At the sun, yeah. This weekend, UFC Seattle Sunday. Good luck. Good luck, brother. We'll support him back here. 100%. That is daily break guys breaking bread with the news of today. This is the morning shift. Shifters. I don't know if I teased this in the start. Sorry, my bad, but you are going to want to listen. We get VUAs. Voice us anything. And I love that people have been remembering that because at any time, any, any, any point, you can just vote. And if you're on the requested messages on, on Instagram say, hey, I need to send a, I need to send a voice memo. We'll accept it and you can send it. This, this is a hard one today. They need our help. So I want to stop talking.
38Let's listen to this and see how we feel about it. And see if we can solve this little dilemma. All right. I've got a bit of a weird one here. So my mother and granddad came over for a coffee today. And I really don't know if I was wrong doing this, but both of them didn't want to take off their shoes. And we're like real at our house. You take off your shoes before you come in. And then I asked my mom nicely. I said it nicely. I was like, oh, mom, could you please take off your shoes? And then later on, my mom was like pissed off about it. She was like, she goes to me. Oh, why, why did you ask me to take off your shoes? Like, I was going to take them off, but I was just taking this inside. And I get that. But for me, it's like, am I wrong for asking my mom to take off her shoes in my house? Like, is that bad that the son's asking that of his mother? Or, you know, should I just like kind of flag that and be like, nah, that's your mom.
38You just let her do what she wants. You don't tell your mom what to do. But then also, it's like, it's your house. So it's, I just, I don't know how I feel. So I wanted to see boys. How do you feel about that? What is your perspective? Is it wrong? Is it right? Good question. So many thoughts. So many thoughts. I'm really, I'm really a savant at like these scenarios, bro. I hear all the nuances. Laugh, laugh, laugh, laugh, laugh. He's right and he's wrong. Before we get there though, can we color this? Okay. Him. Him asking the question. Am I wrong in his house? Is interesting. Also, she said she was going to take them off. I don't think he believed her.
40I think that's why he had to, he had to, he had to create his boundary early, you know? I wonder if it was the first time. It feels like he'd been waiting to move out and have his own space. You're damned if you do, damned if you don't. No, let's just personalize it. Would you take, if you were in a house, right? Let's say, let's not make it easy because all of us live in houses where, if grown up in houses, we take the shoes off. Or were you guys like that? Yeah. So, let's just personalize it too. You didn't have to ask it. You know what? I was actually just asking him when I finished the question. I realized what you think you might have thought you heard, which is not the case. Okay?
40Which is not the case. Mark, will you take your shoes off and you live on the farm? Of course you live on the farm. Yep. It's really about, if you were from a house that takes your shoes off and your mom didn't want to take your shoes off, would you still ask her to take them off? These are her rules. This is your house. But these are her rules. I installed these rules from you. I didn't make, I didn't think that I got here now and all of a sudden was a shoes off type of a guy. Mom, you taught me these rules. See, I don't like what you're done there. You found a... I found it, didn't I? You found a trap door. Yeah, mom. To the question. Mom, you raised me like this. Mom, no. Mom was testing him. Okay, let's change it. Mom tests him and he passed the test. Let's change it. Your mom knows you don't care. This is an enforce rule by your partner. Okay, I'm out of the race now, Mark.
42It's on you. I think I'm without reading, like needing to read anything into the situation. Like, I'm not going to come in and assume that this is how it's brought up or anything like that. I'm just going to go off the evidence we have. If our friend who has messaged in is over the age of 18, and they have their own residents and they're setting their own rules, mom should be proud that she's brought up a person who has, has the strict set of rules that has gone, and said, you know what? We may not have done this growing up, but I'm a grown-ass man now, and this is how I run my household. You should be proud that you brought somebody up who has the confidence to do that. I imagine that mom's still mumbling if she's sitting there thinking that she can come into their house and not follow their rules. And at that point, that's on mom. Mom hasn't necessarily parted with the idea of still being a mom at that point. Like, as in, I'm talking to little boy mom. As in, you're under the age of 18. I bought you into this world. I can take you out of this world kind of mentality. So, I, yeah, I think you stand on business in this instance. You say, look, I told you to take your shoes off,
43because even if you work them in, we have a strict set of rules. We don't want people trampling stuff through this house. It's disrespectful. That's how we run this house. You ain't talking to your mom like that, though. No, you ain't, it's more of a... You might not be able to, if you're still a boy. I respect my mom, that's all. You're still going to be, like, my mom will understand that. But up well, she's going to understand. No one, no one's saying that we don't respect moms, but everyone has a different relationship with their mom. I think there's a wider conversation here that we need to have, which is, should we agree that once you leave the nest, and once you, you know, let's say, let's set it up for partner, life partner, marriage, long-term committed, that is your person, that there is a degree of separation that exists now between you and your life partner, opposed to that needs to look different from you and your mom. Like a mom, I get that this is how things were,
47but now that I'm with my life partner, there's a different intimacy here, and there's a different relationship here, and this is my hub over here. This is what I think things are going to go this way. That's how it's going to take you. This is how it needs to go in this way. I've never experienced that, but I can imagine that that's what I was like. My mom don't. So I can't really do like, my mom's cool. Don't assume my position on this guy is by the way. I'm just saying that I think it's something that a lot of people experience. My mom's dope too, and my mom's cool, but my mom is not my partner's mom, and my partner might have some problems with how mom does things, and therefore it's now my job to now negotiate these situations. And if it's my house, and it shoes off, well, if it's our house, me and my partner's house, and it shoes off, mom, you have to follow by our rules here, because this is our hub that we've built, and you should be proud of me, and the progress I've made, I'm a strong man, who's been able to sit down some rules, and these are the rules. And I, you know, it doesn't mean I don't love you and you less,
48or anything like that, but this is a grown-up conversation now. I've grown into who I am as a person, I'm the leader of this household. Hannah worms here. Come on now. I feel like it's just, it happens a lot for couples, like depending on the fishy, the mom's sign relationship, I think, I don't know, and I just, Where are you? You're right. Get me in, There are things that I, where are you sitting? Ok. See, and this is why it's case by case. My, my, my my my my my my my my my my my my my my my my my your's. See, and she comes for her babies now. My mom has always been honoring of the concept of marriage, you know, so it's Absolutely, it is about Now she have something to say if she don't think you should be getting married Right, which I would listen I would listen to my mom. There's enough data there for me to suggest that her opinion on someone that I would be Within the future. I would have to I would have to listen luckily a doors now more than me, you know what I mean
51So she if I if I made if I made a hard line in the sand around something that needs to happen at home Actually, it has happened it has happened as she was sweet. Yeah, it wasn't anything contentious It was about sometimes we More than more than when we were raised we allow the kids to watch certain things not like Full-on adults movies, but you know the YouTube will be on and we're monitoring it But it was a bit of a line in the same way. I said no I know what is being played. I'm not there all the time, but there's a trust there that happens with the boys They know yes, I can I can go monitor a little bit better. I've had that moment. Yeah, but it's yes But it's me saying no, we're not we're not turning it off and like it's got to be off by five and how you know We were when you grew and so it was kind of like hmm was a little bit of that, but she was like, you know what? Absolutely, it's your funny, but it was good for me to just have that confidence Here's my mom's one my mom old school Mom, sorry, oh because I need you listen to the show My mom still says things you can't really say in 2026 and I had
56And that is a lot of families That's not like we don't come from families where you know this happens. It's not it's not a bad thing Yeah, I said mom, but the third one they we had to really couple it so yes, okay, I agree I understand what you say Haha Anyway, I think look you'll let us know in the comments. I'm sure their stories, but I just thought oh, you know That's a good thing to that is a great question What's the great question You're allowed your own family guys. This is the morning shift What an absolute treat it as shifters welcome you into the studio all white sentiment field Marco Stamenich Marco, thank you for coming along. Thank you for coming into the studio. This is awesome. Oh, thank you for having me Huge fans. So yeah, it's awesome. I love that. I appreciate it, but I just I just gotta say so we I want to just say that to 100% I just gotta say it meant these football players. It's different. I said we have rugby players walking here league players The football players they that Marco right here. He gone walking with the pride is on feet
56You know what I'm saying? Shedora. They think he got a little shedora time peace on the on the wrist like little nice little peace They're probably like 50k or something But very very humble very humble the way you came in here, bro And it's just awesome to have you on the show But I do have one of our oldest boys at the moment. He's fully into into football And so I'll be going to the park with him and trying to do these these drills I don't even know what I'm doing But if you're rocking those, I want to say it's make keep going on this path And keep trying to play football, but thank you for being here It's a good place to start. Tell us a little bit about your path for shifters who may not know where have you come from and and where do you play now? Yeah, so it's it's been a long journey. I started my football in a little club called Stokes Valley It's a small town in Wellington He's sir Yeah, my dad he's from Serbia So from Europe and he was a big big fan of football So you know when he had his son He really wanted me to get into football So he enrolled me straight away and
57So they got into to football more seriously and got into an academy in Wellington Look at allay football academy Really tight net group Half of our all-wights team now is actually from allay So you know we know all of each other for time and Yeah, we've been been there for 10 years L.A. And then slowly made the way into the all-wights with under 17s got to the World Cup And got my shot in Europe From there, yeah, the rest has happened. I've been there for four years now And yeah, I feel blessed to be given the opportunities to You know develop and go to many different countries and in different Clubs, bro There's so much that we are about to talk about I actually want to talk about where you are right now And I just bro just I'm I struggle to wrap my head around that some weeks, bro You strap your boots up You watch tape all week to go and play like a man's city And you're like Highlands just out there running like what sort of what sort of
00Life or like how do you how do you wake up every morning like this is the life that I'm living right now like What's that like at the tender age of 24? Yeah, you definitely have to pinch yourself from time to time You know begin giving the opportunities to play against players that you you play on FIFA with like Highland and the Crazy to me. It's crazy. Yeah, and uh, you know when you line up against them It was you know, you're looking to the left and then you have to remember like You're in a game playing you need to fight him Like he's no longer your hero or you his your idol like he's your opponent now and you gotta go smash him That's that's the mentality you have to have in Europe and um, yeah I've been blessed enough to have the people around me and good people that have you know taught me the way And uh, yeah, it's a surreal and definitely uh really cool experience Just just on that we actually we we like to ask brook usually asks this question to a lot of sports players But it's cool like welcome to the league moment A lot of basketball players sat where they get into the league and like suddenly they're playing LeBron or whatever And it's like what who's a who's a player that maybe we we would recognize that you've played and it's like
02Oh, that that's a little bit different when you get out there You can watch as much tape and and do as much as you can but is there kind of a moment where Someone just kind of gave you a bit of pace and you're like oh All right, yeah, I think you've always known Jude Bellingham. Oh Oh Do we know to let go what really this guy is You know, I don't want to glaze But he you know, he comes with that presence like that aura you could say and uh The way he demands the ball the way he orchestrates himself on the pitch is just something you have to admire and applaud He was definitely someone when I stepped pitch aside by side on pitch with I was like the presence wow That's top. What what do you do? Sorry, so I'm just waiting waiting back now. Well, how do you how do you approach the game like that like because for me I always think like what I what I want to talk shit or like do you do you do you let them
03Where's that fine balance between being a competitor to air of like you don't you you disrespect them too much And you kind of give them an edge and they you know They started they start to get inspired when they didn't otherwise need to or how do you kind of play those moments against those big players Yeah, I kind of try to treat them like any other player It definitely like I don't really have that in me to Yeah, other players. I think I do it more of my actions. So I play in the midfield number six like a CDM and part of my job is to smash people like Not literally, but you know you like slide tackle and stop playing that So I think that's something that I do in the first five minutes to be able to like rock myself up and be like Yeah, and let him know as well like physical you ain't gonna get past me this game That's what I try and do instead of talk shit, but there's obviously games where you just got it because he's giving it to you I'm loving this what's like I imagine It's very similar to us like we we played FIFA a lot growing up
05So you kind of get to understand these stadiums watch the world cups you watching like all these these big massive stadiums What's one stadium that you played it or you want to play it then you like get this This is it like this is the dream right here I think for me it would be the Santiago Bernabar the round Madrid stadium I think and how far like that's a possibility right That's definitely what I aim for um, I try to take a step by step, but I'd love to love to go there and play against them Can I say a quick funny story mark? We actually thought we were going to be dialing in so we thought you'd be On the camera and stuff and we were also disappointed because we've seen you further. We think you're a good-looking man Very good-looking man. We wanted to smell you. You smell great. You look great I don't know why I started there what I wanted to talk about is Friday nights big matchup quarter past seven taking on Finland I know you've just mentioned a ground you'd like to play at but what is a stacked out heaving Eden Park Feel like to you on a world cup football year like how how how's the nerves? How are you feeling about this game against Finland?
08Yeah, no matter what stadium. I would like to go and play it Nothing compares to being playing at home For your country in front of your home fans and for me Playing in front of my family is the one thing that I enjoy most and you know This family that I haven't seen for many years now They're gonna land in a few hours so I'm gonna see some of them So for them to come and watch me on Friday is Did you have to pay for it? No, I'm happy to send family to everything man. Yeah, exactly. That's cool. What about some of the other things I mean family is everything but there's also other things that New Zealand offers that you may have missed since being abroad What are some of the things you're looking forward to tucking into where you're back? I'm going straight for a mints and cheese pie Yeah They make them in in Europe, but it's just not the same as it What's a um, well, what's kind of like your day like? Yeah For me and in the camp it's It's different because you're 24-7 with the boys. Yeah
10You know you wake up for breakfast and you're having it with some of the boys and you've got some meetings Obviously some training more meetings and then you've got the game And yeah, for me, it's the best time in football to be playing with with these boys because I've known them for so long So yeah, I'm looking forward to it young squad two right like this This is almost like not a trial as such, but it's a good chance to showcase especially Another game against Chile caught up us seven on the Monday Eden Park is well. I live close to the impact. You just that there's gonna be cars everywhere I know the the stadium is behaving but for you Coming back and seeing some of your friends, but also knowing how important performing well is It is a big part of this these couple of games, right? Yeah, I mean, this is this is the last tour before the World Cup the the big stage that we've all been working hard for for the last four years So um, yeah, we've said this many times with the boys and coaching stuff and these two games are so important for us We need to go in there like this is the World Cup games So yeah, it's nice to be back home and and have the home crowd behind us as well
15Break the foot. What do you think the new white strip? But have you if you had a chance to touch it to feel it? Are you liking it? Yeah, I touched that it's it's really nice Um, I wish I could have brought you boys Yeah, probably four excellent For me, I'm a generally a two exile, but I find there's a football a little bit of a hugging little bit Live I need that. Hey, just a bit of a self-exclusion, but obviously one of our boys at home young He has dreams of being a professional footballer just for any young kids listening in the car and to our you know Our people that listen to the potty on the way to work in that and the car on the way to school What's your kind of message for them that you know, they want to make it in the space? You know around I don't know working hard or that is possible like any message for them Yeah, definitely. I think looking back at my experience was Sacrifice was was the number one thing Um, you know, you're always going to have Opportunities to do the other thing and you need to make that decision What do you want in your life? What do you want if you're wanting to become a football player?
18Maybe it's not the best idea to go out with your boys on that Friday night. Um, I like this good That's what it's about. Yes So um, yeah, I had I had that in a lot of opportunities and in my time when I was growing up in New Zealand and You know, my boys understood what I was going through what I wanted to achieve with my football And um, I'm still in contact with them. It's not like you're going to lose your boys. They're always going to be your boys in your day ones and Um, they're all coming to watch my game and they're so happy Yeah, but it is will cut beer Like that's just the dead end itself, but like you you say like it's will cut beer you guys are going to be there Um, what's kind of how's camp? How's the environment? What's what's kind of the feeling? Camp right now leading into now we also they're glued to the TV watching it You know when it when it comes in time to the World Cup Yeah, it's um, it's buzzing at the moment. Yeah, um, it definitely feels different to the other camps Um, and we've had such a long period before seeing each other since this camp normally we see each other once a
20You know month after month And then there's a period where we've had from November to March now where we haven't seen each other So um, everybody is buzzing everyone's excited And looking forward to these first two games um, and then the World Cup here Is there anyone who you're like intimidated to see and I'm not even saying it in terms of who we play in our group But is there anyone who and I don't want to do any of the glazing either But is there anyone who is on the world stage at this World Cup that you'd be like? Oh There it is now he ain't like that That's kind of pushing him out. We know He ain't wide like that Who are you excited to compete against who are you excited to dominate even if you're not playing them All right, even if we're not playing them. Yeah, you have the choice of everybody in the world. I think France. I think Uh, I Love watching them. I think you know, they've got a lot of like amazing players Um, and also the drip that they come into the
20Again We need some tailors, you know, when I was poor usually and I think you guys do I was just saying before those all blacks. We need to get them back in suits and getting there, you know But a class to the game I'll obviously we're expecting you guys to win the World Cup, but let's just say hi particularly on the worst case scenario We don't we gonna we are right. I know what you no one told him just early prediction who you think might get it Well, he only gonna say he thinks he's gonna take us out of it. Okay, so you we can't even pick us Who's coming? Who's coming? I think Germany. I think Germany might be an underdog I think they've had my past world cups where they haven't performed well. I think this This World Cup. I think they'll be good. Guess what none of the finals, buddy Nine I love that our final question from me anyone in your team. You'd like to call out anything that I'm gonna build a culture here. No, no, that's right Any banter anything you want to just say you know to any of the boys who may be listening
22There he's not on the camp, but it's It's a shout out in a dig at Matt Garbert. Okay, he's one of my closest boys He said was that L.A. with me and you know, he loves your show as well Each other clips from your Instagram and we're laughing about it, but why aren't you on the tour, bro? Yeah Where you at? Where you at? Bitch, please Anyway, congrats on winning the World Cup and I know if you this year, bro We don't we don't fall back to no one Thank you so much for your time, brother We wish you all the very very best just a run of the fans are tonight 715 p.m. Taking on Finland at Eden Park and then on Monday 715 p.m. Taking on Chile Eden Park that's our fortress cannot wait to see you guys explode on the World Cup scene as well Oh, thank you guys. Okay, I'm moving through the next round fresh Prince of Balear Let's go into the second Side the second part of the bracket and we're going with max max matching tracksuits taking on the bucket hat the humble bucket hat Oh, come on. We need something a little more difficult than this. It's matching tracksuits all day Come on now. It's at we're still we're selling them at you know still to this day 2,000 buddy 26 Matching tracksuits, baby. I never quite liked the maxing tracksuit. I thought you could wear the hat everywhere If people still rocking the house, I don't know
28Okay Yeah, give me the hat the hat. Give me the hat. I was split again man This is tough. I didn't expect this to be as tough as what it has become so I can't lie to you I'm gonna go ahead and I'll lock in the bucket head as well Next bracket Tamagotchi taking on Pokemon Now Tamagotchi. I'm not gonna do it. I was just gonna do it. Yeah, I'm not you got it Have it Pokemon. Yeah, it's had a massive comeback already. We'll have to bring it back. It's already back. And so a couple of big gaming ventures that obviously started out in the 90s soon. Nintendo taking on Sega or Sega, depending on where in the world you're listening to this. Oh, that's hard. It's hard because I was in Nintendo, but my dad had all the old Sega consoles. So I'm still going to Nintendo because James Bond 007 tied me over for many weekends. I feel quite empty with this question because I feel like I don't, I don't have a dog in this race. I don't have any. But it hurts me because I see how much joy that brought all of you guys as kids. Are you in Nintendo? It's all going to Nintendo. He just had a basketball and a hoop. Remember Nintendo's also Game Boy. Game Boy came out in the 90s, super Nintendo. I played that play Pokemon color. All right, let's keep moving through the bracket. We have the first prince of ballet taking on the bucket hats. Well, first prince. Yeah, first prince.
