Washington's Combine Performance Boosts Broncos Draft Talk

Arkansas running back Mike Washington, Jr. has caught the eye of the Denver Broncos as

a possible second round pick in the 2026 NFL.

This 6-foot-1, 223-pound back had a breakout year with the Razorbacks, rushing for 1,070

yards on 100.

67 carries at 6.4 yards per carry while scoring 8 touchdowns.

He also added 28 catches for 226 yards and 1 receiving score.

Earlier this season, Washington transferred to Arkansas after stops at Buffalo and New

Mexico where he showed steady improvement.

His stock skyrocketed at the NFL Scout in Combine where he ran a blistering 4.33 in the

40-yard dash, leaped 39 inches, vertically, and posted a 10-foot-a-broad jump, turning

heads among scouts.

Fans and analysts love his side-speed combo, calling him a powerful one-cut runner with

breakaway potential and solid receiving skills.

But concerns linger over fumbling issues, weak pass blocking, and some stiffness and tight

spaces that slow his quickness.

Now, with the Broncos picking late in the second round and holding a top backfield duo

in J.K. Dobbins and RJ Harvey, some wonder if Washington fits.

Right away or needs polishing as a rotational piece.

His Combine performance has bumped him into day two talks, possibly ahead of Denver's

slide.
