War Powers Act Fail in the House

0:00All righty, welcoming John James, a congressman from the Republican congressman from the 10th district and he's running for governor. He'd like to be governor of the great state of Michigan. I would be, John first of all welcome back. We've had you often and we love having you on and I obviously want to talk about your parents' bill of rights but I have to use your expertise as a great American pilot and you led to Apache helicopter platoons in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Therefore there's no one better for me to ask this question than you. Tell me the difference between Iraqi Freedom and what we're going through right now with Iran. Well, thanks for having me back on. The greatest distinction is one is it forever war and the other one has been going on for six days. Iran had scope creeps that cost soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines and guardsmen.

1:03Their lives without clear definition and this one has clearly defined scope and timeline. I believe the Secretary of War Pete Eggstuff articulated very clearly within days that Iran must not have a new number one number two, ballistic missile, no go number three, no navy. They can no longer hide behind conventional weapons, continue to threaten America and our regional partners in order to build their nuclear program that would essentially bring about what they're talking about the end of times. Iran already admitted that they had enough uranium, wished enough for weapons grade to make 11 nuclear weapons that could have been deployed anything from a from a soft top truck to to a steel container that could make it to our shores under no circumstances to these individuals have been allowed to kill Americans first, whether abroad or on

2:04the homeland. And so the biggest difference again is one was a forever war and this one's just been going on for six days and it looks like things are ahead of schedule. All right. The War Powers Act fails in the House yesterday. I was totally against that. Once our soldiers, once our young men and women are in harm's way, you don't start to debate whether they should be there and not there are already there. You give them your fullest support in my opinion and you deal with all of these other issues afterwards. You can either weigh in on that or we can move on to something. Yeah. And this, sorry, I just, you make a very, very good point. I mean, a lot of these people would just have, would do nothing, would allow this 47-year war that Iran has declared on us because make no mistake, Iran has been at war with us for 47 years and there have been too many naive leaders who refused to acknowledge it. When they say death to America, guys, they mean it. I went over there. I brought home friends under the airplane and not over it because of the Iranian regime

3:10that trained militias in Iraq that killed innocent and killed Americans. They've been doing this since the Carter era and President Trump is not starting this war. Don't believe that leftist propaganda. President Trump is trying to end it so that we can live in peace abroad and in America. I'm so glad you said that, John James, Congressman, Republican 10th District, Gubernatorial candidate. I don't know where these other politicians have been to not hear what we've all heard for years, death to America, chanted by Iran. Let's move on from there where I have like mind on that. Talk to me about your parents' bill of rights. That's intriguing. Well, so it was very important to me starting this campaign that people understand that I'm listening to them. I believe very strongly that you have to listen and learn before you lead. Everywhere I went in our corner of the state, every corner on our mission first people always do, people were telling me that they feel like their rights are threatened.

4:13Specifically, their rights, their children. I believe that our Lord, the endowed us to certain people around that are among them the life living in the speed of happiness. The first relationship that he made was one between him and man, the second between a man and woman. Between parents and children and that seems like now under attack more than ever. And the parents' bill of rights is based on three tenants, really very simple, very common sense. One, kids cannot consent, Paul. It cannot be approached for it where they can fit like they're an adult. They're minor children and we must protect their innocent. Two, parents have a right to know. They have a 14th amendment constitutional right to know, but also it's common sense. That you shouldn't get between a parent and their child, especially the government. And third, if adults can't talk about sex with other adults at work without consent, why is it that adults can talk to your child at school without consent?

5:15Absolutely. These are the types of things that make sense to most people so they write to direct your child education, the right to control their health care decisions, the right to demand transparency and privacy, the right to preserve family integrity. And having enforceable measures with real consequences for the perpetrators is what the parental right is all about. And where does the state government have a role in this? Well, I think that only in extreme cases, only in extreme cases should the state government interfere. And these are after the use of our system that we have because, of course, this is no excuse for child abuse, right? But the state does have a role to protect the children's innocence, but 99.99% of the time protecting children's innocence is the role of the parent. And these are things that are currently happening right now. In Rochester Hills, there's a lawsuit because the school district out here is trying to

6:19withhold information about curriculum from parents. And then out in Rockburg, there's a law school parent who is doing the Rockburg school district because the school districts, especially the transition to their child without their knowledge or consent, this is crazy talk. And all I'm talking about is common sense measures. Things that, I mean, when I was growing up, you didn't even have to talk about because it was just assumed that we protect parental rights and innocence of children. And now, sadly, we have to articulate these things. And so I want parents to know that I have their sticks. I want parents to know that I will be their partner in allowing them the tools that they need to raise their child as they see fit. And the way you see it from our other conversations, John James, Republican Congressman from the 10th District, gubernatorial candidate for the great state of Michigan, you have always seen state government in a position where, at the very least, they must guarantee parental

7:20rights through enforcement and remedies. The state shall impose all appropriate penalties and prosecute to the fullest extent of the law, any school organization or individual that infringes on these parental rights or is suspected, obviously, of any of the other problems, sexual, gender, based harassment, coercion, the list goes on and on. These are things that we would generally take for granted, but as we found in real life situations, we can't take any of this for granted, can we? John? Well? Yes. Well, there we are. Well, there we are. There we are. Are you talking directly into the phone we lost you there? No, I accidentally face muted because, you know, I got you, I've done it. Yeah. But yeah, we have to remain vigilant because, you know, when the government takes away our rights, they don't give them back.

8:22And so there's nothing more fundamental than the rights of a parent and their child and those must be protected. Again, our rights are endowed to us by our creator and they should be protected by the government, not the other way around, and people who have a different thought have another thing coming.
