Wake County Board Expansion: Kushner & Singh Lead

0:00On this March 4th in Durham, here's what is making headlines. Wade County is expanding its Board of Commissioners from 7-9 seats this election year, adding two new at-large positions. In Tuesday's Democratic primary, Christine Kushner and Mona Singh emerged as the top boat getters early on, based on initial counts from early voting. Seven Democrats competed for those two spots, including Educator, Marguerite Creole, Small Business Owner, Kimberly McGee, retired Deputy Sheriff Robert, Mitchiner, former Morseville Council Member, Steve Rao, Raleigh Council Member Jonathan Lambert Melton, and the leading pair. This change came after state representative Aaron Pear, pushed for new at-large seats and shifted district races so only voters in those districts pick, the winners rather than the whole county deciding.
