在90年代初，我有一个听众经常给我的电台写信，讲她听我节目时的心情，后来她去了美国，偶尔我会在电台的传达室里收到从加州寄来的包裹，有一次打开包裹里面是一盘磁带和一封信，讲她在美国的生活和对北京以及我的节目的思念，磁带的一面是她录的美国电台的节目，一个中年主持人放一些独立地下乐队的歌曲，她说她觉得这个主持好像是美国的有待，磁带的另外一面是她给我做的节目，也就是现在说的“Mixtape”，第一首歌就是David Bowie演唱的歌曲“DJ”，“I am a DJ, I am what I play!”
