The 28-year-old wants a bigger paycheck, but the team is tied on salary cap space. Sources say they're open to trading him if the deal makes sense. Greenard has two years left on his deal at $19 million per season. That total of $38 million puts him below the top 10 highest paid players at his position. Any team that grabs him would need to rework his contract right away. He's been a big part of the Vikings' defense since signing as a free agent from the Houston Texans in 2024. That first year, he racked up 12 sacks, 18 tackles for loss, and earned his first Pro Bowl nod. This past season, injury sideline him for five games, limiting him to just three sacks. The defensive coordinator Brian Flores has counted on Greenard as a main pass rusher.
