Vanderbilt Lands Missouri Guard T.O. Barrett

0:00On April 22nd, Vanderbilt just landed a solid pickup in the transfer portal with former Missouri Guard Tiel Barrett signing on to join the Commodores. He's their fifth transfer of this offseason, bringing two years of experience from the Tigers under coach Dennis Gates. Last season as a sophomore, Barrett averaged 8.6 points per game on 46% shooting, starting 14 of 33 games. He's the second guard coach, Mark Bienton, is grabbed, teaming up with Ace Glass from Washington to rebuild that back court in black and gold. Barrett's a physical player who scores most of his buckets in the pain, and he chips in three assists in 2.7 rebounds per game. Fans are buzzing about how he fits Vanderbilt's style, especially on defense where he averaged 1.2 steals a night. That perimeter pressure lines up perfect with Barrington's system.
