Utah Mammoth Acquire MacKenzie Weegar for Playoff Push

The Utah mammoth just bolstered their defense by trading for Mackenzie Wegar from the Calgary Flames. In the deal, they sent over three second-round picks from 2026, defenseman Ali Mahada, and prospect Jonathan Castanjah. Wegar, a 32-year-old, right-shot blueliner, waived his no-trade clause to join the push for playoffs. Wegar has locked in for five more years on an eight-year deal, averaging 6.2, 5 million, annually.
