US & Venezuela Restart Diplomatic Relations

Both nations just agreed to restart full diplomatic and consular relations, marking a major shift after years of strain. Earlier this week, the U.S. State Department made it official on Thursday. Rodriguez followed up with a message to President Donald Trump stressing mutual respect, equality, and teamwork under international rules for the good of everyone involved. Ties broke down back in 2019 when Washington rejected Nicolas Maduro as leader after a contested election and backed in opposition, lawmaker instead. That move led Caracas to cut all diplomatic contact. Fast forward to this January, when U.S. forces capture Maduro amid rising tensions, that opened the door for Rodriguez to step in as interim president, and her team quickly signaled a desire to mend fences with the U.S. Relations have warmed up steadily since then, setting the stage for real cooperation
