Israeli air strikes hitter-ran hard over the weekend, killing former President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at his Tehran home. The 69-year-old was under house arrest there. Ahmadinejad ran Iran from 2005 to 2013 and tried for a comeback last year after another leader's death. Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei blocked that bid, but Khamenei died in the same strikes, along with over 40 top Iranian officials. These U.S. backed attacks, also took out Iran's chief of staff, defense minister, and key revolutionary guard commanders. Ahmadinejad drew global heat for his anti-Israel comments in Holocaust denial. U.S. Central Command confirmed three American troops died in the operation ordered by President Trump. A few others suffered minor shrapnel wounds and are heading back to duty soon.
