US Missile Strike Hits Iran School, Killing 165

A preliminary U.S. military investigation has confirmed that a Tomahawk missile strike accidentally hit a girl's elementary school in southern Iran on February 28th. The attack killed at least 165 people, mostly children, according to Iranian reports. The U.S. was targeting a nearby base used by Iran's revolutionary guard Navy. The school building used to be part of that base, but got fenced off between 2013 and 2016. Planners relied on outdated coordinates from the Defense Intelligence Agency. Iranian media covered funerals for the victims, while President Masood Pizeskian pointed fingers at the United States and Israel.
