Reporting from The Daily News Now, I'm Corey, with the latest in Birmingham, the Alabama Department of Transportation is closing a stretch of US 280 North of the Jefferson County and Shelby County Line for a bridge, demolition. This affects both directions starting March 20th, with Eastbound Lane staying shut through March 22nd. It's all part of a big highway widening project. Westbound lanes will reopen each morning at 5 a.m. and close again at 11 p.m. during that time. All lanes should be back open by 6 a.m. on March 22nd.
