في زمان الدولة الفاطمية بمصر، وفي عهد الخليفة المستنصر، تضافرت الظروف وتحالفت على المصريين، وأدى الاقتتال الداخلي بين فرق الجيش المختلفة، وتدخلات الملك رصد (والدة المستنصر) وانخفاض منسوب مياه النيل وتفشي الأوبئة، أدى كل ذلك إلى اندلاع ما يُعرف بـ"الشدة المستنصرية".. المجاعة التي أجبرت المصريين على أكل الكلاب والقطط.. ثم أكل بعضهم البعض.. #الدحيح
