0:00On April 19th, a 90-year-old woman named Edith Millington died last September after slipping on an unsafe ramp outside P.K. convenience store in, Ernston, Trafford. She bang her head trying to enter with her walking stick, and now a corner is sounding the alarm because the ramp's still there. Earlier this month, corner Mr. Bridgman wrote to the store owners, S.A.I.S.K.N. lit it, urging them to redesign it. She warned that without changes, someone with mobility issues could face the same fatal fall, pointing out the steep slope, loose rubber mat and lack, of nearby handrails. When reporters checked to shop this week, the ramp hadn't budged, though new handrails were added to the doorway. The supervisor said builders secured it permanently after inspecting. CCTV from the day shows Edith stepping up one foot at a time, grabbing the doorframe as the mat shifted, leading to her fall. At the inquest on March 24th, staff admitted the setup was unchanged. Despite these tweaks, the corner insists the core design flaws remain a serious hazard
1:03for vulnerable shoppers, and until it's fully fixed, that risk hangs heavy over the entrance.
