On March 2nd, a United Airlines flight from Los Angeles to Newark made an emergency landing back at LAX on Monday after an engine failure caused smoke to fill the cabin. The Boeing 787-9 took off around 10.15 a.m. from Terminal 7, but by 11.05 a.m., the crew reported problems, circling back for landing at 11.20 a.m. Passengers evacuated down the emergency slides onto the runway, running from the smoking plane as fire crews surrounded it to help control the situation. Luckily, among 268 passengers and 12 crew, just one person had a minor finger cut, with no other injuries reported. Officials are now investigating the engine trouble, but the quick response kept everyone safe on this scary incident.
