The actress broke out with Pope Fiction back in 1994, but chose to stay based in New York City instead of making the full move west. She has always wished she had relocated to Los Angeles for good. Thurman did rent an apartment there once during a busy work stretch, but she got pregnant with her daughter just six weeks after signing the lease. As a mother of three, Thurman shares two children with ex-husband Ethan Hawke and one with former fiancé Arpad Boussain. She regrets missing out on deeper ties to the Hollywood crowd, but cherishes her bonds with fellow parents from her kids New York schools. Thurman stresses that picking happiness matters most, no matter what. She plans to stick around New York while her 13-year-old daughter starts high school, and she's excited about the extra time and energy that will bring.
