UK Injects £200M for West Midlands Housing

This includes around 180 million pounds from the City Densification Fund, aimed at building homes right in town and city centers. On top of that, an unspecified chunk from the 1.5 billion pound housing accelerator fund will help speed up big housing schemes in the Burj region. Here this week, Chancellor Rachel Rees announced regional mayors could gain control over some tax revenue to tackle their local priorities. West Midlands Mayor Richard Parker called this a strong vote of confidence in the area's growth plans. He highlighted how the funding will break down longstanding barriers and improve lies for the region's three million residents. The full City Densification Fund totals 800 million pounds, with 620 million pounds going to five northern mayoral areas. This push includes better skills training, transport upgrades, and town regeneration.
