U.S. Strikes Narco-Terrorists in Ecuador

0:00Reporting from the Daily News Now, I'm Corey with the latest in Birmingham. The U.S. military carried out a strike against a narco-terrorist network in Ecuador on Friday. U.S. Southern Command announced the action which supported Ecuadorian forces and operations against designated terrorist groups. This happened on March 6th at the direction of top U.S. defense leaders. General Francis Donovan, head of Southern Command, ordered joint forces to join the effort. He praised the teamwork with Ecuador's armed forces for what he called a major win against narco-terrorism in the region. Pentagon officials highlighted how the U.S. is teaming up with partners across the western hemisphere to fight these groups. They thanked Ecuador's president and military for their close cooperation in the mission. spokesman Sean Parnell noted the strike came at Ecuador's request to break up drug trafficking and corruption networks.
