The Green Bay Packers are looking ahead to the 2026 NFL Draft, and in their countdown of top prospects, Florida defensive end Tyreeke Saap. Ranked number 43. Since General Manager Brian Gutercoons took over in 2018, the team has added just six edge rushers, mostly late round picks. With a need for more depth up front, Saap stands out as a solid day three option. Saap, a Florida native, built his resume steadily in college. He had a breakout year in 2024 with 47 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, and 7 sacks. Production dropped off his final season to 3.5 tackles for loss in one sack, but he stayed reliable on a banged up line amid coaching. Changes Florida's note Saap's bodybuilder, build and power driven game, where he bullies his way into the backfield with heavy hands and high effort. He shines against the run, sets the edge well, and even flashed inside on passing downs.

1:03His pressure stayed consistent despite fewer sacks, though his athleticism has limits. The Packers revamped their edge group recently, trading Rashan Gary to Dallas and losing Kingsley and AgBerry to the Jets in Free Agency. It leaves them thin, especially of new addition Micah Parsons misses early games, forcing reliance on younger guys like Lucas Van Ness. Saap fits perfectly as a high character rookie who could contribute right away on special teams after logging nearly 400 snaps there. He's a team leader, community guy, and father, exactly the steady presence teams crave late in the draft. The Daily News Now is presented by our sponsor, LinkedIn the description.
