Ty Chandler Joins Saints, Vikings Lament Draft Class

The Minnesota Vikings running back Ty Chandler has signed with the New Orleans Saints

and Free Agency.

The 27-year-old, a fifth-round pick from the 2022 draft, spent three seasons as a backup

in Minnesota before his rookie deal.

Ended.

Chandler showed flashes of speed, like his 132-yard game against Cincinnati late in 2023,

but injuries limited him to just three gains last season with only four rushing yards.

Overall he ran for 710 yards on 181 carries across 40 games.

Viking spans are lamenting the end of their 2022 draft class, as Chandler joins Jalen

Naylor, who went to the Raiders and others like Ed, Ingram, who resigned elsewhere.

That group is now completely scattered after producing little long-term impact.

Meanwhile, the Saints bolster their already packed backfield by adding Chandler to stars,

like Travis ETN and Alvin Kamara, plus Kendra Miller.

And others, experts say this move adds depth more than star power, especially if Kamara

departs this offseason.

Looking ahead, Minnesota plans to draft a new running back after meeting prospects like

Emmett Johnson from Nebraska.

For Chandler, training camp will be a battle just to make New Orleans's roster.
