1:06The Pittsburgh Steelers continue to make moves and while things are are slowing down a second wave of free agency is going to happen at some point for the Steelers. It always does. You know, you go back through the years and I've been saying it. I know that maybe I'm a broken record at this point, but the Pittsburgh Steelers have trends when it comes to their free agency. They start off super hot and maybe it's not always exciting moves, but they start off hot. They go into the legal tampering period and they make a splash. Again, even if that splash is Mitch Trebitsky, they make a signing early. They make a couple of signings on day one where it's like, okay, they're moving and then they just completely fall off a cliff. And then the second wave comes and it's less exciting as the first wave typically, but it still happens and it happens right around this time where the Pittsburgh Steelers go the first day of legal tampering period things slow down for the next two to three days.

2:17Then they start to pick back up in the Pittsburgh Steelers, make those second moves where they get the guys that still starter quality. However, you know, they're not the Michael Pittman juniors. They're not the Jamel Deans. They are sometimes a really small backup running back. Sometimes it's an offensive lineman that you never heard of. That's usually what happens here. And this time around, the Steelers are likely going to do the same thing and have that second wave of free agency. And there are two names out there that it just doesn't make sense for them not to be involved in. And where we're at right now. I mean, I don't know how you could sit here and justify no phone calls being made and no attempt whatsoever at bringing either of them in as the market continues to go and they continue to get passed over.

Two ones that I think at the beginning of free agency we all anticipated would move very fast that the Steelers would have little shot at getting because well nobody really looks at the Steelers as a spend big make crazy moves organization and that's fair.

5:28But it's Thursday and these guys have not been signed and we're sitting here and everybody's wondering the same thing what is going on why is this happening. I don't really have an answer to that one. I couldn't tell you why the free agency market still includes some of the names that it does what I could tell you is that the Pittsburgh Steelers have an opportunity to pounce on both of them. And at least one of them should be signed and we'll dive into that. Let's start with the guy that is I think more exciting but less important for the Pittsburgh Steelers and that is well. Pittsburgh native to Juan Briskar a safety that everybody anticipated would be very high on a number of teams lists would have a market rather quickly. In free agency and would probably sign rather quickly in free agency but we're sitting here it's Thursday. Safety's are coming off the board I'm looking at my big board now and the Jalen Hawkins the Reed Blankenships the Jalen Thompson's the Nick Cross the Kobe Bryant's they're all gone.

Jaquan brisker is not I mean the Chicago Bears even lost Kevin Byard and still Jaquan brisker is on the market and there are talks that he is not a candidate to return to the Chicago Bears the team that drafted them the team that over the last four years he started 52 games made 342 tackles seven sacks 12 tackles for loss.

8:07Four forced fumbles and four interceptions that team doesn't want them. What is happening with Jaquan brisker's market. The Steelers went out and got Darnell Savage that I think is a pretty quality safety three to have I would be more excited about a Jaquan brisker as a safety three truthfully because he has that Pittsburgh native. You know you just kind of bring the steel city with you when you return type of. Outlook and to me and to everybody else I think that's exciting but I think what's also exciting is that his market value right now has to be almost nothing. That you look at a guy like Jaquan brisker and you got to just sit there and say you were expected to get ten eleven twelve million dollars chances are you're going to get five. You're going to be a super cheap addition to some team somewhere and chances are you're going to sign a one year deal because right now you're in the proven market that's crazy to me but he's out there and he's cheap and maybe the Pittsburgh Steelers should be sitting here and looking at him and going oh we could use another one.

9:27Why not why not go get a Jaquan brisker and have them compete with Darnell Savage and open up the secondary even more I mean last year you found yourself with Kyle doger coming in here at the trade deadline and starting the back half of your season. You never know what's going to happen to have replacement options. I mean sure why not he's twenty seven years old. I feel like it makes some sense it made almost no sense after the Darnell Savage signing but I mean right now where we sit here today he's got to be so cheap. I just think it makes sense to any team because he's just a good player that's going to cost almost no money but he's not the most important name out there for the Pittsburgh Steelers that is Rashid Walker.

10:34I don't know what's happening with the left tackle market nobody is getting signed right now and I mean nobody you really look at the offensive lineman market as a whole and there are a lot of names out there still floating around that you are a little bit surprised are floating around but none bigger than Rashid Walker and here's the thing Rashid Walker is going to get a pretty big contract that's going to happen. But I think the twenty seven the twenty five million dollar range just got lower to twenty to twenty three million dollar range because a deal that is massive usually comes quickly it usually comes immediately on Monday those deals are in place before the legal tampering period even opens and Rashid Walker was not one of those names. So now you're looking at like normal contracts normal contracts for a left tackle are about eighteen to twenty three million dollars.

11:34It's a good number and I expect Rashid Walker to be right in that twenty to twenty three range and that makes so much sense for the Steelers you need a left tackle. If even if you have faith in Broderick Jones who cares who cares at all he has not shown almost anything over the last three years to tell you that you should pass up on an opportunity to go get a left tackle that is twenty six years old who is already proven to be elite in the NFL. Those guys don't miss it is very rare that the big giant offensive line signing doesn't work out because typically you know that that guy is going to be a stud it's an offensive lineman when they prove themselves they continue to prove themselves. To me that's the easy signing the Pittsburgh Steelers can make for the rest of the off season is to go get Rashid Walker it makes more sense than bringing Aaron Rogers back.

12:41Go get a left tackle you have the cap space to do so you have the cap space in the future to do so. It just makes way too much sense to go get a guy who is a franchise cornerstone piece to the Pittsburgh Steelers who completes your offensive line who allows you to have flexibility at left guard if that's Spencer Anderson or a draft pick or another signing somewhere does not matter. You can look at it and say Rashid Walker is the most important move the Pittsburgh Steelers would make all off season Michael Pittman Jr. included because that is a guy that solidifies your offensive line and leads almost no question marks behind. Makes too much sense and if his market is lowering I mean what are you doing why are you sitting here waiting those negotiations should be happening and should have already been happening I don't know if the Steelers are going to go sign Rashid Walker I have no idea to me it's been awfully quiet for the Pittsburgh Steelers on the offensive line market to quiet for a team that clearly needs offensive line help.

14:00But if you were to ask I think 10 out of 10 people who the most important name the Pittsburgh Steelers could go get right now is I think at least a to them would tell you Rashid Walker. Maybe the other two tell you a juquam brisker. We'll see what happens.
