0:00In Sydney today, March 11, tragic news out of Shell Harbor today were two people drowned at an unpatrolled beach in the Ilawara region south of Wollongong, a 66-year-old man and a 64-year-old woman got into trouble while swimming. It happened after 11am at Shell Harbor Beach on Boulawaru Parade in Shell Cove. The beach isn't patrolled by lifeguards, which might have played a role. Bystanders jumped in and pulled the pair from the water, but they couldn't be revived and died right there at the scene. Family members were on the beach at the time and witnessed the heartbreak. Emergency crews rushed to the area, setting up privacy tents to handle the situation. Police are leading the response on-site. A report will now go to the corner as investigations continue and will have more updates as they come in. DNN is brought to you by our sponsor link in the description.
