Two Arrested for Birmingham Murder

Two men face capital murder charges in the shooting death of a 23-year-old guy in Birmingham's Kingston neighborhood, Toparius Maxwell, just 19, and Tarell Scott, 21, got napped for killing Cornelius Lee Evans back on March 5th during what cops call A, robbery, gone wrong. That night, around 8.50 pm, first responders rushed to the 4,600 block of Roscoe Avenue in the Red Doctor Morale Todd Homes. They found Evan shot up bad in the courtyard between buildings, multiple hits to his chest, stomach, and arm. He made it to UAB Hospital, but didn't pull through, pronounced dead at 9.54 pm. The city's shot spotter tech picked up a ton of gunfire, and police recovered shell casings from at least two different guns. Both suspects got arrested this past Wednesday, and they're locked up without bond in Jefferson County jail right now.
