Tuscaloosa Schools Launch CEO Plus Entrepreneurship Program

0:00In Birmingham, it's March 2nd, and here's what is going on. Tuscaloosa City Schools is launching a new entrepreneurship program called CEO Plus next school year. Short for creating entrepreneurial opportunities, this year-long course targets motivated juniors and seniors who want real-world business experience. Instead of sitting in classrooms, students will spend each day at local businesses learning operations firsthand. The program lets participants tour companies, build networks with leaders, start a class run business, and develop their own benches from start to finish. They'll also get one-on-one mentoring to build professionalism and key life skills. CEO is an accredited course from the Midland Institute for Entrepreneurship, already running in communities across the country. Superintendent Mike Darius says the program matches their goal of writing students for life and careers. It builds confidence, leadership, and practical know-how that lasts beyond graduation.
