Trump shared the news on social media Thursday signaling a quick change at the department. This endorsement stands out because back in 2023, the two men clashed hard during a Senate hearing on labor issues. Tensions bowled over from an online exchange where O'Brien challenged Mullen directly. Since then, they've turned things around and built a friendly rapport. Mullen has described O'Brien as someone who pulled himself up by his bootstraps.
