Truck Driver Pleads Guilty to Online Luring

A 41-year-old truck driver from Calgary faced a sentencing next month after pleading guilty to lowering a minor during an online sting operation in, the United States. An Idaho detective posed as a 14-year-old girl to catch predators and the man quickly engaged in inappropriate conversations with her. He sent sexually explicit messages and even suggested she call him daddy, building up to arranging an in-person meetup. Officers arrested him at a truck stop south of Idaho Falls, right before Christmas, ending the operation successfully. During questioning, he claimed it was just a momentary lapse and insisted he had no real intentions to act. Sentencing is set for April 16, with the court records confirming the date as final.
