Trey Triceratops Up for Auction

A well-known triceratop skeleton called Trey, displayed for decades in a Wyoming museum, is now up for auction. Found near Lusk in 1993, this 17-foot long fossil dates back over 66 million years. Bidding starts March 17th and runs through March 31st on Jupiter, an online platform. This estimated could fetch between $4.5 million and $5.5 million. Trey starred at the Wyoming Dinosaur Center's opening in 1995 and stayed on loan until 2023. After a private sale, it moved to Singapore, where people can view it until months end. The market for dinosaur fossils is hotter than ever. A Stegosaurus sold for $44.6 million last year, topping the prior record of $31.8 million for a T-Rex. Skeleton. Just months ago, a young dinosaur skeleton sold past $6 million to over $30 million.
