0:00Today, on his light, your path past a rod, Holler Sr. shares a devotional titled Treasure Seekers. Have you ever paused to consider what you're truly after in life? Is it money, success, comfort, or could it be something even more valuable? Pastor Holler will challenge us to search the scriptures with the same determination that people once sought hidden treasure, showing that anyone who diligently seeks God's wisdom can be truly rich. Proverbs chapter 3 verses 13-15 Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that geteth understanding. For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies, and all the things thou canst desired are not to be compared unto her. Our text verses teach us the value of God's wisdom.

1:02The Bible is truly a treasure, a precious wisdom from God. It is more valuable than silver, gold, and precious rubies. These words of Proverbs are those spoken by a father to his son. The subject matter indicates that the son is of age, such that he is ready to start making his own life decisions. To accomplish that, the father emphasizes the importance of God's word and the wisdom therein for daily living. It is for the son to heed these admonitions. The father teaches his son to diligently search the scriptures for words of wisdom. Proverbs 2 1-4 My son, if thou will receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee, so that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding, yea, if thou cryest after knowledge, and lift us up thy voice for understanding,

2:07if thou seekest her as silver, and searches for her as for hid treasures. As men search for treasure, so believers ought to search God's word for precious truths. In 1848, gold was discovered in California. In a short amount of time, several hundred thousand people flocked to California in search of treasure. Men would do well to invest that amount of energy and resources into finding truths in God's word. Some did find wealth in the California gold rush, but many did not. But it is not so with God's word. Everyone that diligently searches the scriptures can be rich in God's word. The call to search the scriptures is to every believer throughout the ages. But let us note that the search must be diligent.

3:11A casual investment into God's word is not what God wants. He wants every person to apply himself as he would, search for silver, gold, and precious rubies. Think again about the California gold rush. People came from around the world, hence they forsook their homes to travel to California with hopes of material wealth. These 49ers, as they were called, gave all to find gold. This is the way God wants believers to search His word. Salvation is free by faith in the work of redemption done by Jesus. It is 289, 4 by grace are you saved through faith. It is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God. Not of works, plus any man should boast.

4:13But spiritual growth in the wisdom of God comes only by a diligent pursuit thereof. Consider again the word of God. My Son, if thou wilt, receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee. If thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thy heart to understanding, yea, if thou cryest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding. If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as his treasures, verse 5, then, shall thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God. Let us not take lately our spiritual life. It takes application to mature in the Lord, but that diligent search is greatly rewarded
