Trainer Convicted of Assaulting Dog Walker

0:00On March 10th, a prominent grand national trainer, 54-year-old Evan Williams, has been found guilty of grievous bodily harm after attacking a dog walker with a hockey stick. He missed up the man for a poacher hunting at night on his land near his stables in Land Carfan in the Vale of Glamorgan. The incident happened in December 2024. 72-year-old Martin Dandridge was outwalking his cocker poo on a lead, wearing a head torch, and Williams drove up in his 4x4. Charged at him, Dandridge suffered a broken arm in two places, and severe bruising. He told the court he feared for his life as the blows rained down, blocking the first one with his arm in excruciating pain. Police officers arrived and heard the sounds of the assault. Meanwhile, well-known jockey connering, who was with Williams, stepped in to stop it. Williams claimed the injuries came from a fall into a ditch, caused by the dog.
